Vick Hope has been appointed a trustee to the V&A museum. She is one of six new board members appointed by UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The Countryfile and BBC Radio 1 presenter said she was “honoured” in a statement. “The V&A is at the top of its game. I hear the message coming through loud and clear that the V&A family of museums are for everyone…I’m delighted to be a part of so many exciting things to come.”

Appointed alongside Hope was journalist and broadcaster Mariella Frostrup. Frostrup has presented the UK’s leading book programmes, cultural shows and judged its literary and arts awards, such as the Booker Prize, BAFTA Awards, RIBA and Turner Prize. Until 2024 she was presenter of her own show on Times Radio.

The other new trustees are luxury retail executive and CEO of Selfridges Andrew Keith, the founder and chief executive of Bloomsbury Publishing Nigel Newton, YouTube’s Europe, Middle East and Africa boss Pedro Pina, and businesswoman and wife of former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak Akshata Murty.
On her appointment Akshata Murty said: “The V&A museums play a vital role in the creative and cultural life of the country, and I have seen firsthand the value of the V&A’s outreach work with young people.” She highlighted how she is particularly keen to work with the museum on their upcoming overhaul of the South Asia gallery.
Chair of the V&A’s trustees Baroness Minouche Shafik said “I’m delighted to welcome this group of new Trustees, each of whom brings a passion for the museum and a wealth of experience within their own field.”
The six new trustees join the current 12, which include Stirling Prize winning architect Amanda Levete and fashion designer Jonathan Anderson. They were announced alongside Claudia Winkleman being appointed a British Museum trustee.
The appointments come just weeks away from the opening of the V&A’s Cartier exhibition, which will almost certainly be their biggest show of the year.
